Professional Engagement

Belief Statement

Globalisation and technology continue to reinforce the rapid change in the societal landscape. Resulting in numerous implications for educators who are required to prepare students for an unknown future (Department of Education, Skills and Employment, 2019; Queensland Government Department of Education, 2016). Therefore, I believe that it is imperative for me as a teacher to engage in professional development throughout my entire teaching career.  Effective teaching comes from professional learning, reflective practices, and participation in classroom profiling. Only through a desire to continue to learn and constructive feedback can I continue to improve my practice.

I endeavour to facilitate professional relationships between students, caregivers, fellow teachers, and the community. As well as being sensitive to the diverse learning needs of my students and their families. Improving professional practice through observation or collegial discussions is imperative to student achievement. A strong relationship between a student’s caregivers and educational facility is vital in enriching a student’s learning experiences (Queensland Government Department of Education, 2018). I will continue to develop my communication skills and build relationships with the community to strengthen the link between education and real-world experiences.

Jade builds a strong culture through her vision to continually advance her own capabilities and share her learning with others. Jade works collaboratively with all staff and as a result has developed productive working relationships that lead to positive outcomes for students.
